What colors come to mind when you think of a baby album?
Most people think of pink and blue.

There are three categories of scrapbook paper you need to choose...

1. Background paper - the background paper helps to set the tone of the page. You can choose patterned paper, solid paper or a combination of both. You can create your own background paper by cutting strips of different styles of paper and arranging them on your page.

It is best to use just one pattern style per page. Otherwise, your layout might look too busy.

2. Mats for photos - the paper color you choose for the photo mats should compliment the background paper and the photo. Solid colors usually work best photo mats.

3. Embellishments and journaling boxes -

When you think of a baby album, the colors pink and blue probably start dancing around in your head.

Sure, some pages in your baby scrapbook will include these traditional colors for a baby.

Don't be afraid to use other colors for your layout. Here are some tips for choosing the right colors for your baby scrapbook paper....

1. Choose a color that matches the photos. If baby is wearing a red outfit, then choose a paper that matches it. This is easy to do if you are a digital scrapper. For traditional scrappers, if you do not have a color that matches the photo, then choose a color that compliments it. Black would be a great compliment to the red outfit.
